Landslides block roads at 9 places across country

KATHMANDU, Aug 14: Incessant rain has caused landslides, which have blocked roads at 9 places across the country.

Roads in Darchula, Sindhupalchowk, Mugu, Dadeldhura, Palpa, Rolpa and Rukum (East) have been blocked by the landslides.

Where were the roads blocked?

Due to the landslides, various roads including the Gokuleshwor-Darchula Highway road section at Panibaanj in Shailyashikhar Municipality-6, Darchula have been blocked.

The Melamchi-Helambu road section at Chanaute in Helambu Rural Municipality-2, Sindhupalchowk and the Melamchi-Bhotang road section at Uttisghari in Panchpokhari Thangpal Rural Municipality-8 have also been blocked by the landslides.

Similarly, the Jumla-Nagma-Mugu road section at Topla in Chhayanath Rara Municipality-7 in Mugu has been blocked due to the incessant rain.

On the other hand, the Dadeldhura-Diyapal road section at Raduwa in Ganyapdhura Rural Municipality-2 in Dadeldhura and the Bhimdatta Highway at Hagulthe in Alital Rural Municipality-1 have been blocked.

The Siddhartha Highway at Dobhan in Tinau Rural Municipality-3, Palpa, the Shahidmarga road section at Bhagobari in Tribeni Rural Municipality-2, Rolpa and the Madhya Pahadi Lok Highway at Korbas in Sisne Rural Municipality-6, Rukum (East) have been blocked by the landslides.

The police deployed from the nearby police offices are taking necessary steps to open the blocked roads in coordination with related agencies.
