Formation of another negotiation committee to address metered interest victims' demands

KATHMANDU, April 7: The Ministry of Home Affairs has formed a negotiation committee headed by Joint Secretary Pradeep Kumar Koirala to hold talks with the metered-interest victims on Friday. Earlier, the government had formed a committee under the leadership of former judge Gauri Bahadur Karki to solve the problems of metered-interest victims. However, after the Farmers and Labourers Struggle Committee continued their movements against metered interest and fraud, a negotiation committee was formed to accommodate their demands.

The five-member negotiating committee includes Deputy Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office Uma Kanta Adhikari, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Law Junga Bahadur Dangi and Superintendent of Police Dineshraj Mainali. Dilkumar Tamang, The Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, is the Member Secretary.

According to Jitendra Basnet, the Spokesman of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the committee will immediately take the necessary steps as Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha instructed to address the demands of the victims immediately.
