Iran and Qatar Foreign Ministers Discuss US-Iran Diplomacy and Regional Tensions

Kathmandu. The Foreign Ministers of Iran and Qatar have held a phone conversation about the ongoing diplomatic talks and mediation efforts between the United States and Iran. 

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, the Foreign Minister of Iran, Abbas Araghchi, and the Foreign Minister of Qatar, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, held a phone conversation on Monday. The discussion focused on US-Iran relations, recent tensions in West Asia, and particularly the situation in Lebanon. 

This conversation took place at a time when military tensions between Israel and Iran have intensified. In recent days, both countries have been engaged in direct attacks and counter-attacks, considered the most serious situation since the April ceasefire. 

Qatar has been actively playing the role of a mediator in regional diplomatic efforts. Previously, reports indicated that a Qatari delegation visited Tehran in May to discuss the possibility of a deal.
