Pakistan Security Forces Kill 27 Terrorists in North Waziristan

Islamabad. Pakistan's security forces have killed 27 terrorists in a series of intelligence-based operations conducted in the North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in the last 72 hours, the Pakistan Army's Public Relations Department said on Sunday.

According to the army, security forces conducted operations on various terrorist hideouts in the Miranshah area. 27 terrorists were killed in the fierce exchange of fire that ensued.

Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed terrorists. These groups were involved in targeted killings of civilians and various terrorist activities in the area.

The army mentioned that the attack was retaliated for the assassination of local influential figure Malik Saifullah Dawar in Miranshah and that those involved in this attack have been apprehended through action.

The army said that further clearance operations are underway to make the area completely free of terrorists and that this operation is part of the country's ongoing counter-terrorism campaign.
