Fourth webinar of ASF ongoing in Kathmandu

Kathmandu - The fourth webinar of the Asia Shelter Forum (ASF) is ongoing in Kathmandu. The two-day event aims to exchange the experiences in the post-earthquake recovery and reconstruction, it is been said. The webinar is led by Department of Urban Development and Building Construction under the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) and the Ministry of Urban Development and coordinated by Housing Recovery and Reconstruction Platform, Catholic Relief Services, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, European Union, International Organisation for Migration, Habitat for Humanity and NGO Federation of Nepal.
The third workshop of the ASF convened in Indonesia last year had decided with majority to organise its fourth session in Kathmandu. Even the efforts to launch safe housing programme with the involvement of the community and opportunities for cooperation in disaster response would be explored in the programme inaugurated by NRA Chief Executive Officer Sushil Gyawali. The ASF provides an opportunity for those working in housing and residential area in the Asia Pacific region to come together and exchange knowledge, skills and experiences.
