Landslide claims one in Kaski

Kathmandu - A lady died when a house collapsed due to a landslide at Rupa Rural Municipality-6 in Kaski district early this morning. The deceased is Srijana BK, 20. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at the District Police Office, Subas Hamal, said that the landslide occurred buried the house at 4:25 this morning.

Police said that other members of the family managed to escape the incident. The dead body is being brought to Western Regional Hospital under Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences for a postmortem. The landslide has put the houses of locals Hariram BK, Chudamani Sunar and Maya BK at risk. Chairperson of rural municipality, Nabaraj Ojha, said that preparations are on to shift them at other places.
