Pokhara High Court orders report on Rabi Lamichhane's bail

Pokhara, January 21 — The Pokhara High Court has ordered an explanation report in the case related to the Suryadarshan Cooperative in Pokhara, involving Rashtriya Swatantra Party President Rabi Lamichhane.

According to information officer Nilprasad Paneru, Justice Raju Kumar Khatiwada's single bench directed that the explanation report be submitted within 15 days.

The Kaski District Court had previously ordered the release of the accused on bail.

On January 9, Justice Nitij Rai's bench had set bail amounts for Lamichhane at 6.5 million, former DIG Chhabilal Joshi at 8.8 million, his associate Ram Bahadur Khanal at 1.5 million, and GB Rai's associate Lila Pachhai at 3.7 million.

Furthermore, bail amounts were set for Suryadarshan's founder chairperson Meena Gurung at 500,000, founder vice-chair Krishna Bahadur Gurung at 100,000, and treasurer Arati Gurung at 500,000.

All of them have been released after submitting bail. However, the Government Attorney's Office has filed a petition in the High Court, seeking the cancellation of the District Court's decision and arguing that all the accused should remain in custody until the case is concluded.

Paneru mentioned that the High Court's order to seek the explanation report means the District Court will submit the report, including original copies, and the hearing will then begin.
