Three temples to be renovated

Kathmandu - Three sites of archeological importance in Baglung are to be renovated. The Department of Archeology is to renovate the Sansarkot, Bhairavsthan temple and Ganesh temple. The three sites located in Baglung municipality remain a religious tourist destination in the district.

The Bhairavsthan temple is located in ward no. 12, the Ganesh temple in ward no. 3 and the Sansarkot at ward no. 7. Budget has also been received to renovate the palace area in Sansarkot, according to Mayor Janak Raj Poudel. It is yet to be decided whether the Department or the municipality will take charge of the renovation work.

In the current fiscal year, a budget of Rs. 7 million has been allocated for the renovation work in the three religious sites. The budget will be increased next year, considering the state of renovation and progress, said Sabita Neupane of the Department. Meanwhile, the municipality is constructing a trekking route to the Sansarkot.
