Biratnagar–Nepali Congress (NC) general secretary Dr Shashanka Koirala has said Kalapani and Lipulek are parts of Nepal's territory and their ownership can't be given to others under any circumstances.
Talking to media persons briefly at Biratnagar Airport today, the general secretary of the main opposition said the party supported Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's commitment that even an inch of Nepali territory would not be allowed to be taken by any country.
He further said that a provision of age limit in the Nepal Students Union (NSU) would be applied only after the upcoming convention. Leader Koirala took time to mention that the party was studying about the names of 11 people (from the then Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Democratic) given to the party recommending them to be appointed as the party central members following the MJF-Democratic integration into the party.
As he said he had not determined yet that whether he would compete for the party president's post in the upcoming general convention. According to him, it will not be appropriate to comment on the issue concerning the party leader Aftab Alam of Rautahat as the issue had already entered the court.
The NC leader claimed that the party was getting a good public support for the by-lection taking place in several parts of the country on November 30.
