Langtang's Kanjin Gumba and surrounding areas now have electricity from Nepal Electricity Authority's central transmission line.

Kathmandu. Electricity from Nepal Electricity Authority's central transmission line has been lit in places like Kanjin Gumba, a famous tourist destination in Rasuwa. According to Gunja Man Tamang, head of the Rasuwa distribution center of the authority, regular electricity has started to be supplied in Kanjin Gumba and surrounding areas of Langtang in Gosainkunda Rural Municipality-4 after the central transmission line was connected. Center chief Tamang informed that the authority has invested about 90 million rupees to provide electricity service in tourist areas like Gosainkunda and Langtang. With the connection of the central transmission line, electricity from the central transmission line has been lit in about 200 households in the Langtang area. Hotel entrepreneurs have benefited from the connection of electricity from the central transmission line. Similarly, tourists, hotel entrepreneurs, and local residents are happy. Similarly, center chief Tamang stated that it has provided great support and relief in operating businesses for local Kanjin Valley's cheese industry, bakery industry, and other small cottage industries, as well as large hotel entrepreneurs. Kanjin Gumba is established as a famous Himalayan settlement within the Langtang National Park. Located at an altitude of about 3,870 meters above sea level, this place is also a major destination for Langtang trekking. From this place, one can observe the Himalayas, glaciers, and the surrounding beautiful scenery. The authority has intensified its campaign to provide regular electricity in tourist areas and places where electricity service has not reached. Last year, electricity reached Gosainkunda, a tourist spot in Rasuwa. Earlier, electricity service was available from the 100 kW capacity micro-hydropower Chyoaha Khola Hydropower Project constructed by the Kadoori Foundation at that location.
