Good governance at top priority of state government: CM Rai

Biratnagar–Chief Minister of State 1, Sherdhan Rai, has said that the state government has kept good governance at top priority. Inaugurating the three-day training 'Good Governance for Office-Bearers of Local Government', jointly organised by Kathmandu-based American Centre, Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Industry Organisation, Morang, here today, Chief Minister Rai expressed the view that bodies providing service to the people have adopted zero tolerance to maintain good governance in development and infrastructure construction.

He expressed the belief that result could be achieved from direct participation and vigilance of the people and good governance could be maintained, saying transparency was the first priority of the good governance in development.

People could experience the good governance from the activities carried at poverty alleviation, employment and social sectors, he added. Stressing the need that the local governments should provide their services to the people in a smooth and easy manner, the Chief Minister said government's campaign , "Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali' could be materialized only if good governance is maintained in the country.

Similarly, Social Development Minister of the state, Jeevan Ghimire, stressed the need of people's monitoring and vigilance in construction work as the country and people become prosperous from the good governance.

Likewise, Chief of American Centre, Sulavraj Bhatta, expressed the belief that the training would be useful to in order to provide service to the people in easy and smooth manner maintaining good governance. FNCCI Vice-President Kishor Pradhan, Morang chair of Industry Organisation, Bhim Ghimire, among others said that the training was organised with an objective of making work performance of office-bearers of local levels easier.
