Criminalisation in politics unpardonable: Minister Baskota

Kavrepalanchowk–Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Baskota has said criminalisation in politics and corruptness in leadership is unpardonable.

In his address to a festival reception organised in Banepa today by the Lions Club of Kavrepalanchowk, he said those responsible for burning people alive, abusing women and attacking villagers and women would not get excuse and no stone would be left unturned to bring them to book.

He pledged that in rule of law no perpetrator would be allowed to walk free. Minister Baskota took time to call on media to give special attention to discourage criminalisation in politics and corruption in leadership.

In his opinion, it is also the responsibility of social sector to act against criminalisation and corruption which needed to be minimised through combined efforts.

As he said, the government is becoming intolerant to corruption and people's representatives are moving ahead as per the promises they made before the people at times of elections. He also urged people to monitor performance of their representatives and warn them if they (latter) had failed in their commitments.

The government's Spokesperson highlighted the need of people's cooperation for positive change. He called on people to gear up for development without causing any threat to the nature.

According to him, an agreement has been signed with China in regard with the Kavrepalanchowk-based Araniko Highway and works of additional development would commence in Banepa remaining as a major transit route.

On the occasion, the Club presented a project seeking to operate a Lions Heart Clinic and the Minister announced to support the project only after going through its policies and work procedure.
