74 arrested from Boudha in charge of online gambling

KATHMANDU, Jan 31: Police have arrested 74 people from Boudha in charge of gambling online.

According to Dinesh Raj Mainali, spokesperson at the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, 74 people have been arrested from a restaurant in Boudha on Sunday evening. They were found playing Bingo ( a betting game).

Police had received information that a large number of people were being gathered at a restaurant owned by Subhas Ghising, 30, currently residing at Baneshwar, for online gambling. Acting on the tip-off, the police raided the restaurant and arrested as many as 74 individuals.

The police have also seized mobile phones, money and coupons used for Bingo games.

Of the arrested, eight are females and 66 are males.
