Storm alert for Tarai belt

KATHMANDU: Residents of the Tarai belt in Lumbini and Koshi provinces are urged to brace themselves as a storm warning has been issued by the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

While most of the country is experiencing fair weather with some clouds in Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces due to local winds and westerly influences, there's a possibility of storms hitting the Tarai region this afternoon.

In the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, expect partly cloudy skies, while the rest of the country will remain mostly fair.

There might be brief spells of rain in isolated spots in these hilly regions, and light snowfall is anticipated in high-hilly and mountainous areas.

Tonight, the hilly regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces will see partly cloudy conditions, with fair weather elsewhere.

Keep an eye out for possible light snowfall in the high-hilly and mountainous regions during the night.

The Division also warns of potential storms in Madhes and Koshi provinces tonight.

It's advisable for residents to stay prepared and take necessary precautions in the face of changing weather patterns.
