Woman Hacked to Death in Rautahat

Rautahat. A woman was murdered with a khukuri attack in Haripur toll of Gujara Municipality-5 in Rautahat on Friday morning.

According to DSP Basanta Gautam, spokesperson of the District Police Office Rautahat, local Chandeshwar Sah Kalwar's wife, estimated to be 40-45 years old, Renudevi Jaiswal, was attacked with a sharp weapon (khukuri) around 10:30 AM today. Police said she died on the spot due to a serious neck injury from the khukuri attack.

According to the police, Upendra Sah Kalwar, estimated to be 35 years old, whose permanent residence is Itahar Belahi toll of Karaiyamai Rural Municipality-8 in Bara and who currently resides in Haripur, Gujara Municipality-5, attacked Renudevi with a khukuri.

After the incident, angry local residents beat up Upendra. Police said that he was sent to Chandrapur Hospital, Chandranigahapur for treatment after being seriously injured. His condition is said to be critical.

As soon as information about the incident was received, a police team led by Inspector Radesh Kumar Khatri from the Area Police Office Laxminia reached the scene. The District Police Office Rautahat has stated that legal procedures are currently being completed at the scene and further investigation into the incident is underway.

The police have not yet disclosed the cause of the incident and have stated that the incident is being investigated from all angles.
