Parliamentary Hearing Committee Meeting: Proposed Chief Justice's complaint to be discussed
KATHMANDU, June 12: The Parliamentary Hearing Committee meeting is going to be held on Monday at 11 am in Singha Darbar. In the meeting, there will be a discussion about opening and distributing the complaints received against the proposed Chief Justice, discussing and deciding on the agenda of the hearing of the proposed Chief Justice.
29 complaints have been filed against Harikrishna Karki in the parliamentary hearing committee. One sitting judge, 7 advocates, 3 rights activists and others have filed complaints against Karki. Advocates Amrit Kharel, Yadav Koirala, Dhruba Bahadur Shrestha along with District Judge Shri Krishna Bhattarai have filed complaints. Similarly, people including activist Ratan Bhandari have filed complaints claiming that Karki is not qualified for the post of Chief Justice.
According to the secretariat, complaints have been filed against Karki regarding financial aspects as well as legal aspects. The committee had given 10 days’ time to call the complaint on the 30th of May. Out of which 5 complaints came through email and other complaints were written and submitted to the office.
