NEPSE falls by 51.37 points, market index drops to 2,631

Kathmandu, December 16 —The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) experienced a decline on Monday, with the market index dropping by 51.37 points, reaching 2,631 points.

A total of 227 companies saw a decrease in their share prices.

Among the biggest losers were Janaki Finance Limited, Nepal Finance Limited, Narayani Development Bank, and Swabhiman Laghubitta, with investors facing significant losses.

Janaki Finance's share price fell by 9.58% today.

On the other hand, 15 companies saw an increase in their share prices, with Kutheli Bukhari Hydroelectric rising by 10%, Joshi Hydropower up by 8.70%, Kumari Sabal Yojana increasing by 5%, and National Hydropower Company rising by 3.98%.

In terms of trading volume, NRN Infrastructure topped the list with a transaction of 26.45 million NPR.

Overall, 1.27 million shares were traded, totaling 5.93 billion NPR in market turnover.
