KMC bans entering schools in metropolis without school's approval

KATHMANDU, Jan. 4: Kathamndu Metropolitan has forbidden entering schools without prior approval. The Metropolitan Education Department has banned entry into the school without prior approval saying that donations are being asked in the school in the name of various associations, guest teachers, and other names. The Department of Education has written to all schools asking them to not let anyone else enter the schools without the prior approval of the department.
According to the department, there are complaints demanding financial support from students and teachers in the name of religious organizations, student organizations, human rights, children's rights, NGOs, INGOs, institutions, guest lectures, etc. As there are complaints from the parents and the school that the teachers and students are being treated without respect, inciting the students to unwanted activities; they are not allowed to enter without prior approval. The department has stated that the said activity violated the school peace zone and affected the schools' overall educational process.
