Kaski and Lamjung's collaboration needed for development: Minister Thapa
Pokhara - Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Yagya Bahadur Thapa, has spoken of the need for finding the avenues of partnership for the development of the areas straddling the Kaski and Lamjung districts.
During a meeting with the people's representatives at a programme held on Thursday at the Madhya Nepal municipality of Lamjung, Minister Thapa said the development of the bordering localities was possible only through mutual collaboration.
Underlining the need for starting the activities needed for the impending federal and provincial elections, Thapa expressed his belief of seeing a quick passage of the local governance laws.
Minister Thapa was also confident that the construction of the Begnas – Bhorletar road stretch and Siklesh – Sisaghat (Madi corridor) would be completed in near future.
On the occasion, Madhya Nepal municipality's mayor, Ramesh Pandey, and deputy mayor, Ram Kumar Shrestha, apprised the visiting minister on the municipal activities.
Minister Thapa also met with Nepali Congress (NC) cadres in Pokhara – Lekhnath Metropolitan City – 31 and instructed them to work by understanding the people's sentiment.
He also met with the family members of social worker and politician, Thaman Singh Gurung, who passed away on Wednesday, at Thumki of Rupa rural municipality and extended his condolences.
