People’s representatives of Chitwan join rafting to promote tourism

Chitwan–A team also comprising local representatives in Chitwan took part in a two-day rafting excursion in the Trishuli River organized by the Ratnanagar Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the dissemination and promotion of the Tourism Year 2020. 


The team which completed the 17-kilometer distance from Chauraudi of Dhading Thursday observed a night stay at Fisling and concluded the journey upon reaching Kurintar this morning by completing the distance of five kilometers (Fisling to Kurintar). 


Ratnanagar municipality mayor Narayan Ban sharing about his feelings after the excursion said it gave him an awesome feeling and he realized that one should achieve this at least once in a life. Ban who himself is committed to bringing about more and more tourists from both home and abroad in the district said Nepal is highly rich country in terms of tourism life. 


State Assembly Krishna Khanal the event send a message that tourists en route to Chitwan from Kathmandu have an opportunity to enjoy rafting in Trishuli before reaching Narayangadh. 


According to Chamber president Rajaram Regmi, the two-day event was aimed to support the Tourism Year announced by the (central) government and promote domestic tourism of Chitwan. The 35-member team comprised local representatives, chamber representatives and others. 


Chitwan remaining as the third touristic destination in the country welcomes around 200 thousand tourists- both foreign and domestics-every year. The Chitwan National Park, a world heritage property and Nepal’s first national park (estd 1973) is the major attraction of tourists. Religious site Devghat, Siraichuli, Lamo Jharana( waterfall); and Tharu Culture have played role in the promotion of its tourism. 


Regional Hotel Association, Sauraha chair Suman Ghimire sees the need of identifying new touristic destinations here to lengthen the stay of tourists.
