Temporary teachers' exam deferred
Kathmandu - The Teachers Service Commission has deferred the examination of temporary teachers by a week.
The examination which was set for August 19 earlier has been re-scheduled for August 26, shared Commission's Administrative Chief Laxmi Ram Poudel.
Earlier too, the Commission had deferred the examination set for July 8 to August 19. Poudel informed that the exam has to be held after a week from the scheduled date due to massive floods and landslides in different parts of the country causing trouble to the mobility.
However, the Temporary Teachers' Struggle Committee has decided to continue the hunger strike despite deferral of examination.
Committee's Vice-Chairperson Jyoti Narayan Dhakal said that they would not end general strike as the exam was deferred only for a week and there was no assurance for amendment to the education act.
The Committee has been on agitation calling for amendment to the Education Act and announcement of new date for examination as agreed.
