Muglin-Narayangadh Road Reopens After Landslides

Kathmandu. The Muglin-Narayangadh road section, specifically at Khahare Khola (near Muglin Bazaar), has been reopened after clearing dry landslides that occurred intermittently on Tuesday.

The road, which was blocked at 7:30 AM on Tuesday, was brought back into operation after approximately 5 hours of continuous effort. However, less than an hour and a half after the road reopened, another dry landslide occurred at the same spot. The road division Bharatpur stated that the road was reopened for traffic again from 4:15 PM after clearing the second landslide for about 1 hour.

Providing information about the condition of the landslide-affected area, Engineer Arjun Ghimire of the Road Division Bharatpur said that the risk still remains as the location where the landslide occurred is entirely new.

He said, 'We have now cleared the landslide and brought the vehicles back into operation on the road. However, the area where this landslide occurred is a completely new location. We estimate that landslides may still occur here and the risk remains high. Therefore, we especially request drivers to drive in one lane, without haste, and with patience, keeping safety in mind while traveling.'

As the landslide occurred in a new location, the road division has kept machines and manpower ready in that area. Travelers and drivers are urged to travel only after understanding the road conditions and exercising caution.
