Public Procurement Monitoring Office Blacklists Construction Businesses and Suppliers

Kathmandu. The Public Procurement Monitoring Office has blacklisted about a dozen construction entrepreneurs and suppliers based on the recommendations of various public bodies.

The Public Procurement Monitoring Office, under the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, published a notice on Tuesday stating that they have been blacklisted for a period of six months to two years in accordance with Section 63(1) of the Public Procurement Act, 2063. As per the office's decision on Shrawan 11, the blacklisted companies and joint ventures will not be allowed to participate in the procurement process of any public body during the specified period.

According to the notice, Global Trading Concern Pvt. Ltd. has been blacklisted for one year on the recommendation of Nepal Airlines Corporation. Similarly, Galwa/Masood Saras JV has been blacklisted for two years and Saras Builders Pvt. Ltd. for one year on the recommendation of Lumbini Province Water Resources and Irrigation Development Division Office, Bardiya.

Masood Construction Service Pvt. Ltd. has been blacklisted for two years on the recommendation of Road Division Hetauda, and Saras Builders Pvt. Ltd. for one year on the recommendation of the Department of Roads, Bridge Sector, Dharan, the office said. Likewise, Shivashakti Infra Developers Pvt. Ltd. has been blacklisted for six months on the recommendation of Road Infrastructure Development Office, Tansen, Gulmi, and Gauri Parvati/YP Construction JV, Manisha Construction & Suppliers Pvt. Ltd., Subodh-Sanjeev JV, Subodh-Lovely JV, and Marweta Construction & Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. have been blacklisted for six months to one year on the recommendation of the Federal Urban Development and Building Construction Office, Dhanusha.

The office stated that the decision to blacklist has been effective from the date of publication of the notice and that the concerned construction entrepreneurs and suppliers will not be allowed to participate in any public procurement activities during that period.
