Seven Engineers Face Dismissal for Prolonged Absence

Kathmandu. The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport has started the process of removing seven engineers from service who have been absent from their work areas for a long time after the end of their study and extraordinary leave. The ministry issued a public notice today directing these employees to submit their final clarification within 30 days.

According to the ministry, these employees of the Nepal Engineering Service, Civil Engineering Group (Building and Architecture Sub-group), Ra.Pa. Third Class, did not report to the office even after their leave period ended. Although a notice was issued earlier on Asar 23, asking for a clarification within 15 days through the Gorkhapatra Daily and the ministry's website, the ministry stated that they ignored it or did not provide a satisfactory response.

According to the notice issued by the ministry, the engineers facing the dismissal process are Pujan Neupane, Srishti Bhusal, Samyog Shrestha, Aastha Acharya, Naresh Thapa, Ramesh Prasad Poudel, and Padamendra Prasad Shrestha. Some of these employees have been absent since 2060 BS, while some have left their work areas without getting their leave approved.

They have been warned of dismissal from service, without being deemed ineligible for future government service, in accordance with sub-sections (1) clauses (ch) and (j) of section 61 of the Civil Service Act, 2049. The ministry stated that the clarification submitted by some employees was not 'satisfactory', and since some did not provide any response within the stipulated time, this final opportunity has been provided.

The ministry has clarified that if a satisfactory clarification is not received within the next 30 days, they will be permanently dismissed from service in accordance with Rule 110 of the Civil Service Regulations, 2050.
