Four Injured in Landslide After Canal Collapse in Lamjung

Lamjung. Four members of a family have been injured when a landslide caused by the collapse of a canal in Bhatbesi, Madhyanepal Municipality-7, Lamjung, buried a house.

At around 2:35 AM on Tuesday, the stone-mud built two-story कच्ची house of local Vishnu Dutt Subedi was completely destroyed by a landslide that occurred when the canal bringing water from Chitikhola towards Bhatbesi collapsed. As soon as information was received that four people inside the house were buried, a team led by Police Inspector Dhruvaprasad Sharma from the Inaruwa Area Police Office, Bhortar, reached the scene in the morning.

The police team, with the help of locals, rescued all four buried individuals and sent them to Chisankhu Health Post, Ramabazar for initial treatment. All four injured were referred to Western Regional Hospital, Pokhara for further treatment at 4:10 AM.

The injured have been identified as 50-year-old Shuk Maya BK, 59-year-old Tik Bahadur BK, 15-year-old Binita BK, and 16-year-old Asmita BK.
