Two Held With 5 Tons Of Illegal Wood Charcoal In Kathmandu

Kathmandu. Police have taken two people into custody with 5 tons of illegal wood charcoal from Chandragiri Municipality-2 Nagdhunga in Kathmandu. A team from Nagdhunga Police Division checked the truck, Lu 1 Kha 8534, coming to Kathmandu from Syangja on Sunday. Police said that illegal wood charcoal worth approximately Rs 256,000 was found during the inspection. Police have taken into custody Krishna Prasad Pathak, 63, a resident of Rambha Rural Municipality-1 in Palpa, and Mahesh Nepali, a resident of Jiri Municipality-3 in Dolakha. District Police Complex Kathmandu spokesperson and Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai informed that the truck with the charcoal and both arrested individuals have been sent to the District Forest Office, Hattisar, for necessary action.
