Roads Blocked Due to Rain, Landslides Across Nepal

Kathmandu. Main highways have been blocked due to continuous rain, floods, and landslides in various parts of the country. As of 6:40 AM on Monday, travelers are stranded due to road closures in many places.

The impact of road blockades is most visible in Bagmati Province. On the BP Highway in Kavre, the road is completely blocked due to landslides in Roshi Rural Municipality-9 Pithali and Ward No. 8 Gimdibeshi. On the same highway, vehicle operation has been stopped from 8 PM to 4 AM on the Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunjebesi section, considering the risk of potential floods.

On the Kanti Lokpath in Makwanpur, vehicles are also prohibited from operating from 5 PM to 5 AM. The Arniko Highway is completely closed due to landslides in Char Kilo and Kodari in Bhote Koshi, Sindhupalchok. The Trishuli-Mailung-Syafrubesi road section is shut down due to floods in Khalte, Northgaya, Rasuwa.

The Lamasangu-Ramechhap Highway in Dolakha is completely closed, but vehicles are being operated through an alternative route. On the Narayangadh-Muglin road section in Chitwan, vehicle movement has resumed at Simtal.

In Kosi Province, the Mechi Highway is completely blocked in Rajduwali, Ilam, due to continuous rain, but arrangements have been made for an alternative route. On the Mid-Hill Highway, the road is operating only one-way in Bokhim, Bhojpur, and Mamkha, Khotang.

In Gandaki Province, the Beni-Jomsom road section in Myagdi is completely closed due to landslides in Baiseri and Sukebagar. On the Kaligandaki Corridor in Baglung, one-way traffic has been opened after clearing landslides in Belbager.

Main roads in Lumbini and Karnali provinces are also severely affected by landslides. In Lumbini Province, the Ghhorahi-Thawang Shahid Highway in Rolpa's Khorawang is blocked due to a landslide, and the Siddhartha Highway in Palpa's Siddhababa is completely closed.

In Karnali Province, floods have completely blocked the Jajarkot-Dolpa road section under the Bheri Corridor in Rukum Paschim's Athbiskot. The Nagma-Gamgadhi road section is also shut down due to landslides in Jhyari Khola, Mugu. Efforts are underway to clear the blocked roads. Concerned bodies have urged travelers and drivers to
