Woman Arrested for Drugging and Robbery in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. A woman who fled after mixing intoxicating substances in snacks and robbing jewelry, cash, and mobile phones has been arrested by a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office.

Last July 12, around 5:30 PM, a robbery occurred while eating snacks at a hotel after being called to look at land in Gokarneshwor Municipality Ward No. 8, Attarkhel, Kathmandu. The victim was made unconscious by mixing intoxicating substances in Frooti. After making the victim unconscious, the accused fled with the gold ring, cash, and mobile phones that were with the victim. During the investigation of the incident, the police team, deployed in coordination with the Inaruwa Police Station, arrested the accused on July 7 from Chautkot, Ward No. 5 of Panauti Municipality, Kavrepalanchok.

The arrested person is 47-year-old Sangita Tamang Karki, originally from Okhaldhunga's Champadevi Rural Municipality Ward No. 9, and currently residing in Panauti Municipality Ward No. 5, Kavrepalanchok.

According to Ramewshwor Karki, Information Officer and Superintendent of Police at the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, the arrested woman has been sent to Boudha Police Circle, Kathmandu for further investigation and necessary action.
