Flood Risk in Small Rivers of Some Mountainous and Himalayan Districts

Kathmandu. Although the water level in the country's main rivers is normal, there is a risk of flash floods in some small rivers in hilly and mountainous districts, the Flood Forecasting Division has informed.

According to the bulletin issued by the division on Saturday morning, the flow of Koshi, Karnali, Narayani, Mahakali, Kankai, Kamala, Bagmati, Eastern Rapti, Babai and their tributaries is below the alert level. Currently, the water level in these rivers is normal.

On Saturday, there is a low risk of flash floods in all hilly and mountainous districts of the Koshi Province. Similarly, there is a low possibility of flash floods in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Kavre, Sindhupalchok and Rasuwa districts of Bagmati Province. The division estimates that flash floods may occur in small rivers flowing through Gorkha, Lamjung, Tanahu and surrounding districts of Gandaki Province.

Tomorrow, the flow is likely to increase in some small rivers flowing through Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpashchim Provinces. Flash floods may occur in some small rivers in those provinces.

The division has informed that the day after tomorrow, the flow will increase in some small rivers flowing through Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali Provinces, and flash floods may occur in some rivers.
