Kaski Police Intensify Action Against Modified Motorcycles in Pokhara

Pokhara. Kaski Police have intensified action against motorcycles whose forms have been changed (modified) and which create noise pollution by making loud noises. 

Under this campaign named 'Operation 365', 51 motorcycles have been taken under control in the last two days alone. According to the District Police Office, Kaski, 18 motorcycles were taken under control on Thursday night and 33 on Friday night. 

Especially at night, complaints have increased about activities that make loud noises like gunshots and use modified silencers to terrify the general public, prompting the police to make this campaign more effective. 

According to the Chief of the District Police Office, Kaski, Superintendent of Police (SP) Navin Karki, under this campaign which started on October 12, action has been taken against 773 motorcycles so far. The motorcycles taken under control are being compulsorily returned to their original form. Along with this, a fine of up to 25,000 rupees is being imposed through the Transport Management Office. 

According to him, since even a single motorcycle can terrorize a large area of the city, the police will continuously be active in completely controlling it. The police have also appealed to the general public for cooperation in solving this problem. It has been requested to provide photos or numbers of motorcycles making loud noises or whose forms have been changed in their locality to the police. Based on the information received, the police have committed to bringing such vehicles under control and into the purview of action by reaching their homes or by looking at transport records. 

This operation, being conducted jointly by the District Police Office and the District Traffic Police Office, is believed to bring significant improvement in Pokhara's noise pollution control and road safety.
