Vijay Kumar Gachhadar Urges Gagan Kumar Thapa to Unite Nepali Congress

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress leader Vijay Kumar Gachhadar has urged party President Gagan Kumar Thapa to bring the dissenting factions into agreement and move the party forward.

Addressing a gathering organized by the establishment-fringe group in Kathmandu on Wednesday on the occasion of BP Koirala Smriti Diwas, he made such a plea.

Leader Gachhadar emphasized that the party's different opinion holders and the party's history should not be ended and moved forward just because the Election Commission and the court gave legality to the leadership. Claiming that leaders who have made great sacrifices for party building are with the establishment-fringe faction, he warned not to ignore the soul and spirit of the Congress, which is with them.

“I call on everyone, Congress is here. The spirit and soul of Congress are here,” said leader Gachhadar, “President Gagan Thapa, leaders who have made great sacrifices for Congress are outside of you.”

Addressing President Thapa, he added, “You have become the President through a special convention. Legally, the Election Commission and the Supreme Court have given you legality. You have become a strong President. But is it appropriate for such a strong President to finish the Congress leaders who disagree with you and become President?”

Reminding the establishment side of the importance of time, Gachhadar said, “Therefore, my message to the President is, time waits for no one. A very good time has come for you.”

Reminding of BP Koirala's policies, he further said, “As President, you should embrace the policies and principles established by BP Koirala and move forward by uniting everyone. I wish you success in completing the 15th General Convention by bringing the dissenting faction of the party into agreement.”

He has once again urged the establishment side to move forward by embracing the policies and principles established by BP Koirala and including all factions.
