Congress Leader Koirala Criticizes Party's Authoritarian Style

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has said that the Nepali Congress is currently operating under authoritarian and dictatorial style of governance.

Speaking at a program organized at Pragya Pratishthan on the occasion of the 44th B.P. Koirala Memorial Day, Dr. Koirala said that the Congress, like the current government, is being run in a dictatorial style.

'When the Congress weakens, the country moves towards anarchy,' Koirala said – 'The Nepali Congress was born to end autocracy. But currently, it feels like the Nepali Congress itself is operating in a dictatorial style.'

He warned the current president Gagan Thapa faction to abandon individualism and selfishness, remembering B.P.'s ideology. He also expressed that the situation where ward presidents are being expelled for not updating their membership without clarification is unacceptable and urged President Thapa to take initiative to maintain party unity.
