US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to Meet in Manila

Manila. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi will meet in Manila, the capital of the Philippines on Wednesday.

According to US officials, Rubio and Wang will have a face-to-face discussion on the occasion of the meeting related to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). It is expected that the main discussion between the two leaders will be about the preparation for Chinese President Xi Jinping's upcoming visit to the US.

In the summit meeting held in Beijing in mid-May between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, an agreement was reached to stabilize bilateral relations despite the competition and tension between the two countries.

On that occasion, Trump and Xi had agreed to meet again at the White House on September 24.
