Parties Revive Old Committees Amidst Unfulfilled Unity

Kathmandu. More than six months have passed since the unification of the Democratic Socialist Party Nepal led by Mahanta Thakur and the Janata Samajwadi Party led by Upendra Yadav. However, various complications have started to arise even before it could be fully realized. 

Both parties have started calling separate meetings. On Sunday, the old executive committee meeting of JSP Nepal was completed. That meeting has called for a meeting of the old central committee. Under the pretext of discussing party unification and adjustment, LoSP and JSP Nepal have started reviving their old committees. 

A leader of JSP Nepal said, 'A decision has been made to keep the old committees of the party active until the unification of LoSP and JSP Nepal is fully realized.' JSP Nepal has decided to activate all its old committees. 

According to that leader, the unification with LoSP Nepal is not reliable. It does not have a good organization at the provincial, district, and local levels. If the adjustment and unification are delayed in this manner, JSP Nepal has already prepared to move forward by activating its organizations. JSP Nepal has decided to activate its old committees until the unification is fully realized. 

Unification has already taken place between the two parties. The Election Commission has also recognized it. A 52-member central coordination committee has been formed. Apart from that, no other committees have been formed. 

JSP Nepal has formed a task force under the leadership of party leader Lalbabu Raut to discuss party adjustment, and JSP Nepal has decided to move forward with the adjustment work by discussing with LoSP Nepal through that task force.
