Major Highways Blocked Due to Rain, Landslides Across Nepal

Kathmandu. Continuous rain, floods, and landslides have blocked various major highways across the country. According to the latest data from the Nepal Police, many road sections in Bagmati, Koshi, Gandaki, and Sudurpashchim provinces are fully or partially affected.

In Koshi Province, the Mechi Highway section in Ilam's Rajaduali is completely closed, although an alternative route can be used there. The Mid-Hilly Highway in Khotang's Mamkha is completely blocked due to landslides, while traffic is only operating one-way in Bhojpur's Bokhim section due to floods.

The most roads are affected in Bagmati Province. Due to the potential risk of floods on the BP Highway, vehicle operation is prohibited from 6 PM to 4 AM. The Arniko Highway is completely closed at both Jirokilo and Kodari in Sindhupalchok due to landslides.
Similarly, travel is prohibited at night on the Kanti Lokpath due to the risk of potential floods and landslides. The Pasang Lhamu Highway in Rasuwa is operating one-way despite landslides.

In Gandaki Province, the Kaligandaki Corridor road section in Baglung's Belbaga is completely blocked due to landslides. In Sudurpashchim, traffic on the Mahakali Highway in Darcula's Panebanj and Airichhina has been completely halted due to landslides.
