Two foreign women arrested with 4.258 kg cocaine in Nepal

Kathmandu. The Narcotics Control Bureau of Nepal Police has arrested two foreign women with 4 kg 258 grams of liquid cocaine mixed with silicone in the shape of clothes. The arrested include one Colombian and another Indian citizen. The Bureau's team arrested them while monitoring suspicious foreign nationals entering Nepal by air. According to the Bureau, 62-year-old Colombian citizen Yoneth Garzan Kaisedo, who arrived in Kathmandu via Qatar Airways flight number 'QR 646' from Colombia via Doha on Asar 31, was arrested from Thamel, Kathmandu. During the search, the police found that the drug was hidden in a 'false bottom' made inside the suitcase she brought. The Bureau stated that the smugglers had hidden the cocaine mixed with silicone inside blankets, mats, jackets, aprons, and neck pillows and brought it. During the investigation, the police also arrested 37-year-old Indian citizen Rebecca Pulle, who came to Kathmandu from Manipur, India, to receive the cocaine. The police said that she was arrested on Saun 3 and necessary investigation is being carried out by the Bureau on both of them. The police have recovered 4 kg 258 grams of cocaine mixed with silicone, a passport, an Indian Election Commission card, and 200 US dollars from the possession of the arrested. In addition, four mobile phones and a suitcase were also recovered from their possession. The police consider this method adopted by drug smugglers to bring cocaine into Nepal to be quite novel. DSP Jeevan Niroula, Deputy Spokesperson of the Bureau, said, 'Looking at the trend of bringing cocaine hidden into Nepal from other countries so far, this is the latest method. This appears to be a new method of hiding by mixing liquid cocaine with silicone and preparing it in the shape and size of clothes.'
