Transport Department Migrates Database, Adjusts Tax Rates

Kathmandu. The Department of Transport Management has started the work of migrating the database and adjusting new tax rates to make the digital systems related to the transport sector more organized and user-friendly.

Issuing a notice on Monday, the department informed that this technical work will take about a week to complete.

During this period, as the system is being upgraded, the department has requested service recipients to contact the concerned transport offices for transport-related services only after August 1st, unless absolutely necessary.

According to the department, with the start of the new financial year, new tax rates set by the provincial governments are being entered and matched in the system. Along with this, the work of database migration is also being carried out simultaneously to make the system secure and organized. The Department of Transport Management has also apologized for the inconvenience caused to the service recipients by this system upgrade work.
