Parliamentary Hearing Committee Meeting Scheduled for 11 AM

Kathmandu. A meeting of the Federal Parliament's Parliamentary Hearing Committee is scheduled to be held today at 11:00 AM in the Parliament Building at Singha Durbar.

The meeting, to be held in the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee's hall, has a potential agenda of discussing complaints received regarding the nominated individuals for the positions of Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioner, and distributing the action plans submitted by the nominated individuals.

A meeting of the Constitutional Council held on Ashad 19 had recommended Man Bahadur Karki for the appointment of Chief Election Commissioner. The same meeting had decided to recommend Dr. Rajib Subba and Guru Prasad Wagle for appointment as Election Commissioners.

There is a constitutional provision for appointment by the President after the names of those proposed are approved by the Parliamentary Committee.
