Fifa World Cup 2026 Final Goes To Extra Time

Kathmandu. The final match to decide the new world champion of the FIFA World Cup 2026 has been pushed to extra time. As no goals were scored by either the Spanish or Argentinian teams in the stipulated 90 minutes and added injury time, the game has entered a 30-minute extra time. Now, a total of 30 minutes of play will be played, consisting of two halves of 15 minutes each.

Throughout the regular 90 minutes of play, Spain maintained aggressive performance and controlled possession for most of the time, but could not break through Argentina's defense. In the final moments of the game (90+4th minute), midfielder Enzo Fernandez received a red card, leaving Argentina with 10 players. In this sense, the next 30 minutes will be more challenging for the defending champion Argentina, where they will have to face Spain's aggressive pressure with one player less.
