CPN-UML Chairman Oli Accuses Government of Inciting Anarchy and Violating Laws

Kathmandu. CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has made a serious accusation that the government is leading the act of creating anarchy in society and violating the law. He made this accusation while speaking at a program organized at the party's central office in Chyasal, Lalitpur.

Oli claimed that the government is creating an atmosphere of fear by threatening to deprive protesting youths of opportunities for study, employment, and foreign travel. He commented that civil liberties in the country are shrinking and that state organs and bodies have come under the control of the executive. He stated that the government, instead of establishing the rule of law, is actively engaged in violating laws and regulations itself.

Chairman Oli expressed anger, saying that a situation has been created where citizens have to live in fear. He said, 'If any youth protests the government now, they are threatened with not being able to study, not being able to go abroad, not being able to get a job. By threatening, by scaring, to subjugate people? The country is suffocating today with people in fear.'

He said that while the government's job is to establish the rule of law, the opposite is happening now. He said, 'The government is leading the act of breaking up society, disrupting it, creating anarchy in society, and violating the law.'

Commenting that even the parliament has come under government pressure, Oli added, 'It is the parliament's job to make just laws. But the parliament is suppressed by the government. A suppressed parliament passes budget discussions in four hours according to the government's wishes. The condition of all state departments and organs is the same.'

He pointed out the need for political parties, civil society, and the media to effectively monitor and criticize the government's actions. Oli warned, 'If all citizens become subjugated and remain silent now, the country's situation will be different. The country is heading towards fascism, and the people are in tears.'

At the same program, Chairman Oli clarified that UML is not a party that gets scared or overly excited by circumstances, and it will move forward by renewing itself in the coming days. He said that UML is not a creeper that cannot stand without clinging to others, but a strong tree that stands on its own strength. He admitted that the party has fallen somewhat behind in the attack of information technology due to not being able to adequately train the party and its cadres and not paying attention to IT training.

Clarifying his party's independent existence, Oli said, 'We are not such a creeper that cannot stand without clinging to others. We are an independent, strong, and robust tree. We have not grown on the strength of others.'

He said that UML has reached this point by facing many storms. He added, 'We have come on our own strength and will move forward by renewing ourselves on our own strength again. CPN UML does not get scared or overly excited by circumstances. This is not a party that gets excited when favorable conditions arise and becomes discouraged when adverse conditions arise.'

Chairman Oli also instructed party workers to play an active role from their respective places to convey the party's positive activities to society.
