Bagmati Province Reduces Ministries to 8 from 14

Makwanpur. With the start of the new financial year 2083-084 in Bagmati Province, the number of ministries has been fixed at 8. The government's previous decision to reduce the 14 ministries in the province to 8 has been implemented. 

Accordingly, Chief Minister Indrabahadur Baniyan is preparing to allocate work according to the ministries. He will manage the 6 ministers in the province and allocate work, informed government spokesperson and Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning, Prabhat Tamang. According to him, the decision to reduce the number of ministries in Bagmati Province will be effectively implemented. 

'From Shrawan 1, there will be only 8 ministries in the province. This was a decision already made by the previous cabinet. The Chief Minister will recommend the allocation of work for the current 14 ministers to the 8 ministries to the Province Chief. The decision of who will remain a minister or be removed is also his responsibility,' he said.

The Council of Ministers meeting of the provincial government held on Baisakh 22 decided to reduce the 14 ministries in the province to 8. The government had decided to merge 6 ministries of the province effective from Shrawan 1. 

Accordingly, from today, in Bagmati Province, along with the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Law and Cooperatives, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning, Ministry of Drinking Water, Energy and Irrigation, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Forest and Environment, Ministry of Health and Social Development, and Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Labor and Transport will remain.
