Arjun Ghimire Appointed Chairman of Nepal Telecommunications Authority

Kathmandu. Arjun Ghimire has been appointed as the Chairman of the Nepal Telecommunications Authority. Ghimire, who was appointed by the decision of the Council of Ministers on Asar 24, received the appointment letter from the Minister of Information and Communications Dr. Vikram Timilsina on Monday. He also took the oath of office and secrecy today.

While presenting the appointment letter, Communications Minister Timilsina expressed high expectations from Chairman Ghimire, who was selected through a competitive process. He mentioned that the recommendation committee selected him based on the belief that he could perform the responsibility in a just, impartial, and result-oriented manner compared to other candidates, and emphasized that the regulatory body must perform its role seriously.

Minister Timilsina directed to pay special attention to solving the existing problems in the telecommunications sector, to work impartially according to legal responsibilities, and to perform duties by keeping the interests of the citizens and the quality of service at the center. He also suggested moving forward by making short-term, medium-term, and long-term action plans without misusing authority.

Newly appointed Chairman Ghimire expressed his commitment to work focused on solving problems by removing the existing shortcomings in the telecommunications sector. He stated that he would work for the development, service expansion, and good governance of the telecommunications sector within the framework of laws, rules, and policies.
