Ganesh Nepali's Funeral Procession Begins After Government Agreement

Kathmandu. The funeral of 25-year-old Ganesh Nepali from Mugu, who died during treatment at Bir Hospital, will be performed. The body of Nepali has been taken for final rites after a 9-point agreement was reached between the Nepal government (including local levels) and the victim's side regarding the incident.

According to the agreement reached at the District Administration Office Kathmandu on Sunday, an independent investigation committee will be formed under the coordination of a former judge to conduct a factual and impartial investigation into the incident. The committee will submit its report to the government within seven days of its formation.

The agreement also states that based on the investigation committee's report and recommendations, necessary decisions will be made regarding declaring Ganesh Nepali a martyr. Furthermore, it has been agreed that the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police personnel deployed in the field on the day of the incident will be suspended for now and further action will be taken based on the investigation report.

As relief for the victim's family, the agreement mentions that the deceased's wife will be provided employment at the Kathmandu Metropolitan City based on her qualifications and capabilities, the daughter's entire higher education expenses will be managed, and appropriate relief funds will be provided in the upcoming executive meeting.

Additionally, the government and the metropolis have agreed to take responsibility for all arrangements for the final rites, transportation and accommodation expenses for relatives in Kathmandu, facilitating the process of receiving the body and post-mortem, and arranging health insurance for one household member of the family.
