Four Men Charged After Violent Assault in Texas Restaurant

Texas. Four men have been charged with seriously assaulting another man inside a restaurant in Irving, Texas. The victim sustained serious head injuries due to the attack, local investigators informed. According to the Irving Police Department, a police team was dispatched to the scene after receiving a report of a large fight involving 15 to 20 people at 'Peak Restaurant and Bar' located in the 3400 block of West Airport Freeway shortly after midnight on Thursday. The person who informed the police stated that many people were fighting inside the restaurant and throwing beer bottles. Upon arriving at the scene, police reviewed CCTV camera footage and observed four men collectively assaulting another man. Investigators identified their appearances and later found all four men and the victim at a hospital on MacArthur Boulevard. Police confirmed the identities of all those involved in the incident from the CCTV footage. Video footage showed 31-year-old Suraj Basnet repeatedly punching and kicking the victim's head, according to investigators. Others are also accused of using fists, kicks, chairs, and glass bottles to attack the victim. The victim suffered serious head injuries, a broken lip, neck injuries, and is suspected of having sustained severe internal head trauma. Police stated that the medical report regarding the head injury is pending. 31-year-old Suraj Basnet, 29-year-old Dhiraj Basnet, 22-year-old Amit Khatri, and 22-year-old Shoaib Khadka, involved in this incident, have been charged with aggravated assault. In addition to assault charges, Amit Khatri has also been charged with using a stolen credit card and fraud. Police stated that further investigation into this incident is ongoing.
