Flood Damages Bridge, Puts Homes at Risk in Kaski

Pokhara. Due to continuous rain, flood has occurred in Kimrung Khola in Annapurna Rural Municipality-11, Kaski. The bridge over Kimrung Khola has been washed away due to the flood, and houses in the coastal areas are at risk.

After the bridge over Kimrung Khola was washed away, contact with the settlement across the river has been broken, informed the rural municipality chairman Bishnu Bahadur KC. Similarly, water has entered 7 hotels in the Syaulee Bazaar area.

The residents there have been moved to a safe place, KC said. Meanwhile, as the water flow in Modi Khola is high, the rural municipality has informed the citizens in the Birethanti area to stay in a safe place. Information has been issued to go to a safe place in coordination with the police at the rural municipality and local level in the risk-prone areas, he said.

According to Kaski's Chief District Officer Kuman Singh Gurung, a police team has been mobilized in the flood-affected areas to carry out rescue and understand the situation.

However, he said that it will take some time for the team to reach the scene due to the long and difficult path. He urged the local residents to remain vigilant as the current situation is sensitive.
