Indian Tourists Die as Speedboat Capsizes Near Phu Quoc Island

Phu Quoc. A group of Indian tourists on a speedboat near Vietnam's Phu Quoc island capsized, killing 15 people. According to preliminary information received from officials, the speedboat, carrying 32 tourists, some crew members, and flight attendants, capsized around 1 PM on Saturday.< /p>

According to Tuoi Tre News Agency, 23 people who were in the accident were rescued and brought to shore, and they are undergoing treatment. The speedboat, with registration number AG 26751, was found to belong to Minh Huy Phu Quoc Trading and Tourism Company Limited.< /p>

The speedboat suddenly malfunctioned and capsized about 400 meters ahead of the Hon Me Route Ngai, causing all passengers and crew members to fall into the sea.< /p>

A video shows strong winds and large waves at the accident site. Rescue teams are seen throwing life preservers towards people drowning in the water, while jet skis are busy taking rescued people to shore.< /p>

The Border Guard Force has deployed two boats and 35 personnel for the rescue operation. The Navy, Coast Guard, and other relevant agencies have worked together in this campaign.< /p>

This accident occurred on Hon Me Route island, which is famous for its natural beauty. This place is considered one of Phu Quoc's best coral reef diving spots. < /p>

Tourists generally use boats to reach this place, and it takes about 20 to 40 minutes to get there.< /p>
