Over 76,000 Afghan Refugees Returned in June

Kabul. It has been informed that more than 76,000 Afghan refugees returned to their homeland from neighboring countries Iran and Pakistan last June.

Deputy Spokesperson of the Afghan government Hamdullah Fitrat said that 76,181 Afghan citizens returned in one month. According to him, they have received essential materials food ration, drinking water, medical services and have gone to their own home provinces.

At a high-level meeting in Kabul on Tuesday, Administrative Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi told senior officials of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) that more than 8 million refugees have returned to Afghanistan since August 2021.
