Food Department Inspects Royal Spring Mineral Water Plant

Kathmandu. The Department of Food Technology and Quality Control has conducted an unexpected inspection at 'Royal Spring Mineral Water & Beverage Pvt. Ltd.' located in Chandragiri Municipality-08. The department inspected the industry under the 'Rapid Response Modality'.

During the inspection based on the received complaint, the department stated that the processing room of the industry was found to be disorganized and the cleanliness condition was only normal. The inspection team immediately destroyed seven crushed and old jars being used in the industry.

However, the condition of algae in the water or the absence of a batch number as mentioned in the complaint was not found during the inspection, according to the report. Nevertheless, samples have been collected for laboratory testing to check the quality of the water in detail.

According to Dr. Balakumari Sharma, Senior Food Research Officer of the department, the industry has been instructed to pay special attention to cleanliness and keep the necessary records accurate. The department stated on Wednesday that further process will be carried forward after the laboratory report arrives.
