Monsoon Affects Nationwide; Heavy Rainfall and Snowfall Expected

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that the monsoon low-pressure system is currently affecting the country. According to the department, there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall with thunderstorms in various parts of the country and snowfall in the high Himalayan regions on Friday.

Accordingly, the sky is generally cloudy across the country on Friday morning, with rainfall in some places in Bagmati Province and in a few places in Koshi and Lumbini provinces.

Similarly, the sky will be generally cloudy across the country in the afternoon, with rain or snowfall possible in some places in the Himalayan and hilly regions. There is also a possibility of rainfall with thunderstorms in a few places in the Terai.

Furthermore, heavy rainfall warnings have been issued for one or two places in the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces on Friday night. The department's bulletin also mentions the possibility of rainfall with thunderstorms in the Himalayan regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim.

Similarly, the weather is not expected to improve significantly on Saturday, Asar 20. It is projected that the sky will be cloudy in the hilly and Himalayan regions and partly cloudy in the Terai on Saturday afternoon. Moderate rainfall and snowfall are expected to continue in various parts of the country on that day. However, the weather will be completely cloudy in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces on Saturday night.

Specifically, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has indicated a possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two places in the hilly and Terai regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
