Lalitpur Administration Closes Kanti Lokpath Highway Due to Monsoon Risks

Lalitpur. The District Administration Office, Lalitpur, has decided to completely close traffic on the Kanti Lokpath Highway, considering the risk of disaster in the current monsoon situation across the country. 

Lalitpur administration has taken this step in accordance with the notice regarding taking necessary precautions issued by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority on Jestha 14. The administration stated that this decision was made in coordination with Makwanpur district to minimize damage to the highway due to monsoon-related incidents and to ensure the safety of passengers and vehicles. According to the notice issued by the office, public and private passenger vehicles going to Makwanpur-Sindhuli via the Kanti Lokpath Highway will not be allowed to travel during the night of Ashar 16 and 17. Accordingly, traffic will be completely closed from 5:00 PM today, Ashar 16, until 5:00 AM tomorrow, Ashar 17. Similarly, vehicles will not be allowed to operate on the said route from 5:00 PM tomorrow, Ashar 17, until 5:00 AM the day after tomorrow, Ashar 18.

This rule will remain in effect until another notice is published, as mentioned in the notice signed by the administrative officer of Lalitpur. With rains occurring across the country, it is urged to exercise caution when traveling on coastal and risky road sections, considering the possibility of disaster at any time. The District Administration Office has also apologized for any inconvenience caused to passengers due to the ban on nighttime vehicle operation.
